Introduction
As a member of a National Squad you are entitled to services from the National Athlete Career and Education (ACE) Program. You do not need to be an Australian Institute of Sport or State Institute or Academy of Sport scholarship to receive these services.

The ACE program has staff located in all States and Territories and provides:

  • Transitional Support to guide athletes through all transition phases including non selection, retirement, injury, rehabilitation, junior to senior squads and relocation.
  • Career Counselling and Planning to assist athletes to identify what careers are of interest to them and how to implement plans to achieve their career goals.
  • Lifestyle Management to assist athletes to find their unique balance of sporting, personal, family and career commitments.
  • Education guidance and information on school and university education, TAFE courses, vocational training programs, course selection and alternative study pathways incorporating Distance Education and flexible delivery.
  • Personal Development to help athletes develop skills in public speaking, media presentation, job interviews, resume development, career planning and time management, and lifeskills such as cooking, budgeting and financial management.

  • Employment Preparation to help athletes develop skills to become 'job ready' - writing resumes and job applications, job search and interviews.

Elite Athlete Friendly University Network
The EAFU program is a crucial part of the ACE network, and aims to support athletes who are undertaking tertiary study and provides the flexibility required so that students can meet their sporting commitments and goals as well as their academic goals.  The 36 universities who are part of the network make special considerations of the athletes needs, and have a dedicated contact person available to help them through the many issues associated with combining study and sport.

National Senior Squad athletes from your sport are eligible to access ACE services and are therefore eligible to access support from the endorsed universities. To access Information about the EAFU network and the related processes click here
